Bobrisky, the infamous cross-dresser also known as Idris Okuneye, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for engaging in actions such as currency abuse, note spraying and mutilation.
On Wednesday night, it was reported that he was apprehended in Lagos and is currently being held at the EFCC’s Command Center situated in Lagos.
The spokesperson for the EFCC, Dele Oyewale, confirmed on Thursday that Bobrisky’s arrest had been made and disclosed that he would face prosecution.
According to Oyewale, Bobrisky is in our custody as he was apprehended yesterday evening in Lagos and currently under the jurisdiction of our Lagos command. His detainment resulted from allegations concerning the misuse of Nigerian currency notes; including spraying them around frivolously, abuse or damage of naira notes through mutilation – among other related charges.”
Restoring the dignity of the naira is a matter we take extremely seriously.
“Although our investigation is still continuing, he will soon be charged in court.”
